My favorite things in Paris:
- Tour of the Louvre with The Roman Guy.
- Shrimp pizza at Cafe di Roma on Champs-Elysees.
- Croissants & pan au chocolat at Aux Peches Normands.
- Riding scooters through the charming, quieter streets.
- Seeing Marie Antoinette’s possessions at the Louvre.
- Seeing an original Greek sculpture (Venus de Milo) at the Louvre.
- Seeing the Mona Lisa in person (much smaller than I expected l but I never knew da Vinci took her with him everywhere he went and constantly worked on it. He never considered it finished).
- The ceilings at the Louvre.
- Tiramisu at Cafe Regalia (best I’ve had in my life).
- Street fashion.
- The architecture.
- The gardens at the Palace of Versailles.
- Seeing where Marie Antoinette escaped during the revolution.
- Seeing the mirrors in the hall of mirrors (blurry mirrors are original).
- Seeing the room where Benjamin Franklin convinced the King of France to support the United States during the war.
- We bought skip the line passes everywhere we went and it was really worth it. People waited in line for hours while we were already on to our next adventure.
What I wish I had done/known:
- More research on how to buy a subway pass at the airport.
- While under repair, you are not able to see any part of the Notre Dame Cathedral except the outside from far away.
- That the Eiffel Tower feels much more touristy than romantic.
- That I had a lock with mine and my husbands first names to leave in Paris as a romantic gesture.
