My favorite things I did in Positano:
- Seeing the beach in Positano. (The bright colored houses perched tightly on the hill is a must see at least once!)
- The charming alleys lined with shops.
We weren’t at the Amalfi coast for very long. I wish I had seen more. I am unsure if it had been overhyped, if I went at the wrong time of year, or if I didn’t see enough but I was disappointed. It is very hard to get around there. Driving was insane. Don’t follow directions from your phone. It took us down an alley meant for motorcycles. We seriously considered getting out and leaving the car and telling our hotel where they could retrieve it as we got ourselves very stuck. I will never forget the Italian man who came over and said, “Eh, its impossible!” We may have gone to only the not so great restaurants but I will tell you our whole group was quite hungry. All the shops had either lemons, t-shirt, or crocheted apparel. I had a hard time finding anything I wanted to take home which is very unusual for me. Had we gone in the summer time and been able to relax on the beach chairs or ventured out further, this may have been a different experience. Hard to say.
