I’ve never been a huge fan of floating shelfs. I like my shelfs to look like they aren’t going anywhere. My blogger girlfriends wanted to do a DIY together and I thought this might be a perfect time to tackle the addition of some corbels.
That said, I’m also a bit indecisive on style. I like so many different styles and I tend to change directions quite frequently. I wanted a temporary way to try the corbels to see if I liked them. This means this post is perfect for renters who want to add a touch of inexpensive character without making permanent changes.
I bought 4 corbels from Amazon. Links at the bottom. I spray painted them with a few coats of white, satin spray paint. Then I attached gorilla tape to the back and top and pressed them into place.
Here is the before…
And the after…
I think it added just the touch of character I was looking for to complete this look! This might be my easiest DIY yet.
So inexpensive and easy that I added it to the rest of my kitchen too. I love that its versatile enough that it wont leave damage should I change my mind but a strong enough hold that it will last as long as I want it to.
