I’ve always been so nervous to attempt stripping paint from furniture. I’ve only ever heard what a nightmare it can be. I really wanted a wood table in the front room but the unused table I had on hand had been painted and distressed. However, if I was going to stay on budget for my project, I needed to figure something out so I decided to give it a go. Here are some before images of the piece.
I read several reviews and watched multiple videos online. Since its currently winter, I decided to attempt the product that can be used indoors.
Here is everything you need. I used an old paint brush I didn’t mind throwing away in case it got ruined (which it didn’t). I used roughly 3/4th of the bottle on my project. Make sure you put something down below your piece. We used butcher paper which made clean up a breeze.
Brush it on pretty thick and let it sit for 30 minutes. Scrape off and repeat. This is the first pass….
Here is the second pass…
After the paint was removed, I added Annie Sloan clear wax to the wood and that was it! Super simple afternoon project. I would recommend only doing this to items that are real wood. I spent $27.00 on my project but I already had the wax on hand. If you need some, you can pick some up for around $8.00.
