When I first bought this wallpaper, I had no idea how well it would work to cut wallpaper and hang it the wrong direction. For me, it was worth the risk even if I had to scrap it all.
Here is what the room looked like before….
It seemed dark to me and quite lifeless. This was surprising to me considering how light the paint color is, and how much light comes in from the big window. I knew that big wall needed something but I didn’t want to spend much money on a playroom. Enter this removable gorgeous wallpaper I found on Etsy…
Here is what it looked like upon arrival. Notice I turned it. I was trying to visualize it on the sides rather than top and bottom. I decided I was into it and it was worth a go. I cut a small piece from the middle and took it to the paint store to match the white. I painted that whole wall the same white as the wallpaper back ground. I then cut the flowers out so there would not be solid lines down the middle of the wall. After the paint was dry, I then hung the wallpaper on the sides.
It turned out even better than I expected! I wanted to put a gorgeous white antique bed in the middle but we ended up moving to our fixer upper before that happened.
I only have pictures or it as a toy room but I could not have been more pleased results. So glad I took the risk! In fact, I might do this same thing at our new house in one of my daughters rooms. Stay tuned!
