Fifty bucks? Ya right! Totally not kidding though. Life is expensive. Fixing up a fixer-upper is hella expensive. With warmer weather fast approaching, I wanted a seating area where I could relax while I watch the kiddos ride their bikes. The problem is we have SO many projects going on that this little area is the last on the list. Ultimately, I want this hanging chair here but it will be better to do that after the exterior is done. For now, I scoured Facebook Marketplace for an inexpensive, old chair with classic lines and made it a cutie again. Enjoy our first $50 fix up!
Here she is in all her former glory! She’s got potential out the wazoo. Such classic and pretty lines! She was practically begging for a makeover. She was a whopping $20.00. $30.00 left…
After removing the cushions, I gave her a light sand and then squeaked by with one can of black high-gloss spray paint. There goes another $5.00. Down to $25.00…
I ordered 1 yard of outdoor fabric from a vendor on Etsy for $12.00 + $6.50 for shipping. I recovered the existing cushions and reattached them. $6.50 to spare…
All that’s left is to do is stage the area with items we already have around the house. Total cost for a front porch makeover is… $43.50! I spent the remaining few dollars on an outdoor pillow from Walmart. Score! Now we have a comfy spot to enjoy our porch and be with our children, all without breaking the bank.
