When I tell you I looked at outdoor lights for the past two years, I do mean literally. I spent SOOOOO much time looking and almost buying but never officially pulled the trigger. I could not justify spending THAT much money on something so low impact. And I needed six. So while $300 isn’t so bad if you need one… it adds up when you need six. I happened to be browsing Amazon one day when I couldn’t believe my eyes. There she was in all her $40 beauty!
I did a double take! $40! Something must be wrong. There’s no way. I instantly went to the customer reviews and they were glowing. I went to the dimensions and they were perfect. Ordered! They couldn’t get here fast enough. I couldn’t open them fast enough. They were perfect. Perfect size, perfect price, perfect style! As if all this perfection wasn’t enough, we just happened to have rectangular hardie board just waiting for the outdoor lights to be chosen, and it too fit perfectly. This is one of those cosmic moments of my life where all the stars aligned and I knew it was meant to be. Never before have I thought so much excitement and delight could come from outdoor lighting… nevertheless, here we are.
Just in case one sneak peek isn’t enough, I have another… The rock on the chimney was finished today!
When I look at this picture, I still see so much I want to do. It’s hard to be patient and let it all come in its due time. Hard to keep myself from dreaming… corbels, dormers above the garage, thicker columns on an expanded porch, more landscaping in the flower beds, the detached garage moved to the back of the property, the attached garage converted into a living room. I digress. It DOES help to look at pictures from we first moved in and realize how far we have come in such a short amount of time.
The good news, is the corbels are about a week out. Now that’s a wait I can handle!
