There’s something special about holiday decor that’s made by hand—especially when it’s as simple and eye-catching as these paper rosettes. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, decorating your front porch, or just adding a little festive flair inside your home, these red, white, and blue beauties are the perfect addition.
They’re easy to make, budget-friendly, and can be sized up or down depending on where you’ll use them. Let’s get folding!
🧻 What You’ll Need:
- Red, white, and blue paper (cardstock or decorative paper works best)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or hot glue gun
- String or ribbon (for hanging)
- Stapler (optional for extra hold)
- Star stickers, buttons, or printable labels (optional embellishment)
✂️ Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Fold the paper accordion-style.
Start with a sheet of paper and fold it back and forth in 1-inch sections like an accordion. The sharper the folds, the better the final look. - Fold the accordion in half.
Once the whole sheet is folded, fold the entire accordion in half to form a fan shape. Secure the center with glue, tape, or a staple. - Repeat and glue together.
You’ll need at least two identical accordion fans to complete one full circle. Glue the halves together to form your rosette. - Add embellishments.
Finish with a star cutout, button, or printable label in the center. You can even write each family member’s name for place settings! - Hang or display.
Attach string or ribbon to the back and hang from the ceiling, in windows, or across the porch railing. You can also tape them to skewers for cupcakes or plant decor!
🇺🇸 Where to Use Your Rosettes:
- On your front door instead of a traditional wreath
- As backdrop decor for a photo booth or picnic table
- Hung from tree branches or porch beams
- Taped to drink dispensers, baskets, or gift bags
- Turned into mini cupcake toppers for your July 4th spread
🧡 Handmade Memories
Crafting together can be just as festive as the holiday itself. Gather your kids, your neighbors, or a few friends and make an afternoon out of it. It’s a fun way to prep for your gathering while creating a sense of togetherness and tradition.
