I’m such a weirdo for napkins. Now before you judge me, let me tell you why. I love making pillows out of napkins! If you have never done this, may I suggest that you are missing out.
- It’s a great souvenir. So easy to add to your suitcase while traveling.
- It gives your home that curated look.
- They are very inexpensive. Most napkins I buy are under $4.
- Storing a pillow cover made out of napkins takes up hardly any room.
- I can switch my decor as frequently as I want without the cost of a new pillow.
- The edge is already hemmed for you. Most are 20×20. It’s almost like it’s begging to be a pillow.
- Great prints are easy to find. Whenever I go to the craft store, I feel like most of the prints are juvenile or elderly and not something I want for my home. Not the case with napkins.
I bought this set of two napkins from Zara Home when I was in Paris for $8. I love leaving the already hemmed edge exposed. I love the imperfect lineup and the detail of the red stitching. Buying a pillow at Zara Home run you $25-$50. We made ours for 1/4 of the price. This pillow is planned for my little girls room.
I picked up these cutie Thanksgiving ones at Pier 1. Paired it with a solid back. Never would I have bought and stored a Thanksgiving pillow. But with napkins, why not?
Last but not least, I picked up these Christmas plaid napkins also at Pier 1. Very inexpensive Christmas pillows, here I come! Once again, I paired it with a solid back and left the hemmed edge exposed.
I hope you feel inspired to visit the napkin section and whip out a few pillows of your own while saving a buck!
