I have been wanting to make a garland for quite some time. #girlsdiyfun posts every other Thursday and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to tackle this little cutie. Here are instructions on how you can make your own…
Cut 3 strands of yarn and braid it. I used ivory yarn from Michaels. I attached one end to a drawer pull to keep it tight while I braided. I tied both ends into a knot. My strands were about 5-6 feet long before braiding as I wanted the edges to hang down a little.
Next, I used these pom pom makers. Slide out one side (both arms) and wrap the yarn around the two arms. Continue this on the other side as well. The more yarn, the fuller your pom pom will be. Close your arms back in to create a circle. This is what it should look like…
Next, slide your scissors between the two arms and cut the yarn.
Tightly tie a piece of yarn or string between the arms and make two knots. This will keep all your smaller cut pieces in place.
Pop open your pom pom maker.
Trim your pom pom until you are happy with the shape.
I then tied these letter ornaments and the pom poms to the braid to complete the garland.
Happy crafting!!!
